Reminds me of me!! sad

My first trip to Vegas, 1981. I tried blackjack a couple of times, but liked the slots better. I can remember standing behind my boyfriend (now husband) at the tables and admiring the chips. I reallllly wanted to pocket a few of them, but didn't want to seem like a hayseed from hicksville!!! Reminded myself that those little round pieces of clay would get turned in to the cage critters for cash. Really, would I pocket a $5 bill for a souvenir? Of course not!! I did save a couple of .50 chips...Pioneer and Westward Ho.

Sigh.... some of the casinos we visited were the Landmark, Hacienda, Sands, Pioneer, Silver Slipper, Castaways.... sad

Also visited Reno and Tahoe in the "80's.

Unfortunately, didn't start collecting chips until the second half of the "90's. sad When I think of the collection that "could have been..." sigh....

Tho' I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to pick up chips, I'm still glad that I got to visit Vegas as it was then grin . I just wish I'd known to appreciate it for what it used to be.
