Re: NCR Banknote of the Day.... and WHAT a DAY IT

Hey here is a question that came to me the other day. I have been trying to think of where to seek the answer. You all seem like you might know.

My girlfriend works in a bowling center and for some reason comes across a lot of 2 dollar bills. One time they gave them to all the guests (kids) at a Bar Mitzvah and the kids spent them and tore some up and left some laying around when they left and all? She and some of her co-workers snagged them up when cleaning up afterward. Anyway, when someone spends them at the snack bar, she picks them out of the register and keeps them. She puts 2 singles in their place, of course. She has about 70 or so right now.

The other day, someone at her work said something about some Bicentennials being worth a lot. I am pretty certain she has one or two. I have never heard of that and really wonder how valuable all these bills are anyway. If nothing else though, I figure it is form of savings. Figuring that with 75 of them, maybe, that is a nice chunk of money that she doesn't want to spend and keeps adding to. I hold them for her and she gives me an average of 3 or 4 each month. She just gave me 3 crisp 2003 series ones the other night.

So, the question, is there really something about some Bicentennial 2 dollar bills that are worth a significant amount? I think one person mentioned $500???

Thanks for any info.
