I remember it well, Fred! grin

"A lot of cheating"

I first started playing in Gardena when I was 19 years old. And I had already been playing poker for 11 years. grin They hardly ever carded anyone. My very first hand at the Horseshoe, I was dealt four 3's. Tossed one to make it look like a straight or flush draw. The dealer took three. After we capped it, he turned over four kings. And this was a low limit game. They were cheating in the highest games played in Gardena & the lowest. sad

As you said though...It was good times. Go to Hollywood Park during the day & bet the horses & then head down the street to play poker. And they also had a bar near the Horseshoe that had a pool table in it. I made some nice money in that bar over the years. vbg Andy - Las Vegas
