Try white chips

Terry - I have a perfectly good HP4100C scanner in the garage. HP only wrote drivers for Windows 2000 and not XP, so it's useless. I have a new HP4890. The scans of white chips are so over exposed that the H&C molds are washed out. The old HP ScanLite software was also much better when scanning multiple chips - alowing you to set the crop size, resize, and file destination once. And a lot of the new scanners have a built-in 35mm feeder in the lid, so if you're not scanning a photo you can see the feeder when scanning chips. Good luck with your new scanner.
