I am not a serious chip collector even tho I have tons of them. It just scares me!!

I seriously collect ashtrays, paper, glasses, photo images, and odd ball casino junk. Lots worth good money and fun to have. Easy to identify if knock offs.

I try and mention to serious collectors that they are bidding on reproductions and out right phony stuff.

To wit: Richard spending $35.00 for a phony El Rancho doorknob.

Others spending over $100.00 for the same style of knock off casino china.

I can't imagine that many chip collectors educate them selves or why would Terry be forming a posse to let everyone know they are fantasy or phony chips. It is a problem that is only going to become more serious and that is sad!!

Any collecting field requires you to be educated about what you are buying. Cool that Terry and others want to take on the project but it is virtually impossible to identify all the phony junk, especially in the chip world.

Admirable project but I think pretty much impossible to police.
