Snapper explanation

Hi Dave -
My understanding of the name "snapper" refers to the sound the chip makes as the 21 dealer quickly removes the chip from the tray. I emphasized the term quickly because that is what the snapper was put in play to do. It was much quicker for the dealer to pull a $5 and a $2.50 chip from the tray to pay out a $5 blackjack, than a $5, two $1's and a $.50. Thus getting in more hands an hour and a bigger house take.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but that was my understanding of the term.

Take Care,
