I worked there when this took place.

I was a slot attendant at the HR. When the drop crew removes money from the machines at night it leaves a door open light on every machine in the place. As part of the grave yard slot attendants duty, we had to "play off" the lights. If you play the game with one coin the light on top goes off. Well, you open the door with your key, grab one coin, and play the machine once. Well this guy would grab 1 onue hundred dollar token and grab a few for himself. He would stash them in a cup in a quarter game until he could retrieve them more safely. Another employee found one of these cups and told a supervisor. They left the cup where it was and had surveilance watch the machine. It was only a matter of time.

He would have someone else cash them in. The Hard Rock took the $100 off the floor and reissued different ones because they still had an undisclosed amount of tokens out there.

Since then, we had to call surveilance even if we thought of going near a $100 machine.

In my 6 years at the Hard Rock i was personally involved in busting a total of 3 thefts by employees.
