Bill, I am not sure that there is...
In Response To: Papago $1 token ()

such an animal. Why do you think there is?

I'm here in Tucson. Indian gaming is still relatively new (less than 10 years) and there are only two Tribes here that operate casinos.

The Tohono Oodham operate the Desert Diamond, which has three facilities. Two in Tucson (outside City Limits) and one in Why, AZ (called the Golden HaSan).

The Pasqua Yaqui operate two casinos, both in Tucson (again, outside the City Limits) called Casino of the Sun and Casino del Sol.

The original Pasqua Yaqui facility was the Casino of the Sun, but before it was casino it was a BINGO operation. As a BINGO operation it was called Arizona Casino and I have a mermaid-mold chip with their logo hot-stamped on it.

I have not been able to find out what the chip was used for in their BINGO operation, but I have since found a matchbook advertising the BINGO operation as Papago BINGO. The crude map on the matchbook shows the location to be exactly where the Casino of the Sun is currently located.

I also have a "Papago BINGO" coffee cup.

However, there is nothing to indicate that there has ever been a Papago slot machine token, to my knowledge. This is why I am curious to know why you think there is.

Thanks,

Jim Follis
