Well, anything is possible, however....

in general, I believe that my statement is valid. However, I too have bought in quantity from the cage, but the circumstances had a rationale.

At the Colorado Belle, they decided to not use their 50 cent chips out on the tables. However, you could go to the service cage and buy whatever they happened to have left. I did that a couple of times (for a total of 30 - 35 chips).

I've also done a stack of quarters at the Railroad Pass, after the cage said I had to go to the craps table.

There is always an exception that proves the rule, but generally speaking most casinos guard against large movements of fractionals.

Anyone need Colorado Belle 50 cent chips?
