I just pulled mine out to look at them again and the color difference is pretty obvious. If you had both colors there in front of you, you'd be able to tell.

I looked to see if I could find some other way to distinguish the chips from each other, but really can't find anything easy. One thing that MIGHT help, but I don't know for sure. On the two chips I have, when I look at the light one and study the wings of the eagle, it is obvious that the wings are both dk brown and black. On the dk pink chip the wings look completely black at first, but very close study shows that they are black and VERY dk brown.
