Re: What Sport is Supposed to be

Very nice, thanks for putting it here. Actually, it is nicer than the autism story, which is an OK story, of course. Your post prompted me to do a Google search on the autism story because there was something I always wondered about that was not mentioned in the television news stories about it, or at least I didn't catch it. I always wondered what effect the autistic guy had on the score of the game. It would be neat if it were a close game and he won it for his team. Now I know why the score was never (or rarely) mentioned on TV:

GREECE, N.Y. -- A surprising hero took over a high school basketball game in New York earlier this month.

Near the end of a blow-out, Greece-Athena High School team manager Jason McElwain checked into the game.

The popular senior, known as "J-Mac," has autism and had never played in a varsity game before.

The senior went on a tear, draining six 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 20 points.

The crowd stormed the floor and carried him off on their shoulders.

Greece-Athena beat Spencerport 79-43.
