"Ray A. Smith" die...

Yes, I know he is dead. I was going through my meager grouping of dice and have passed this one by before. However, this time I had a loupe and I thought I would try to see what what the lettering was about on the two-spot side.

Under the glass I could see a number stamped into the surface (W413K) and over that was a gold foil hot-stamp. I could definately see the letters "UN" and what looked to be the remnants of an "F" or and "E". The "F" made sense (FUN), but what was "FUN" about?

At that point I looked at all the surfaces and on the one-spot side, under the right light, I could see, in cursive writing, "Ray A. Smith" and suddenly "FUN" had a meaning.

Ray A. Smith, Harold's Club for FUN! Could this cancelled die be from Harold's Club? It measures 5/8". I only have a Las Vegas dice guide. Does anyone recognize this to be from Harold's Club. And if so, what year? (Of course value would be nice to know as well.)

Thanks,

Jim
