One variation in Doug's answers: Mapquest directions say about 5.5 miles from Tropicana Hotel to GGS. A little less if you take Las Vegas Blvd., but it will seem just as far. And I second his recommendation of Bellagio Fountains. Try to do that after dark, especially if your wife is with you. Great show!
