Wow..that's really weird! Are you sure there was no residue either on the sticks or the bottome of that holder?

I can't think off the top of my head why the two plastics would react. I've never seen that happen. Both plastics, once hard, should be stable. If one of them was a soft, pliable plastic, I could see maybe that happening.
