I have the same machine you do, but i have McAfee AV. Had it on the last two machines and never had a virus. Couldn't be more happy. Don't have to worry about updates or upgrades. About 3 to 5 times a week there's this little window that opens up down in the lower right hand corner that says..." We've just updated or upgraded your PC. Your friendly anti-virus people...McAfee"

I just renewed my subscription, but don't remember the cost. Don't care too much what the cost is, as long as i'm protected.
