NCR · AOL Spoof Email Alert...

This is the first time I've received a fake AOL email. It looked completely legit, right down to the blue heading and borders and even had my name on it. To be sure, I phoned AOL and was told that it was indeed a phishing expedition.

If you receive one of these emails, forward it to:

TOSGENERAL@aol.com

This is what the email said:

Dear ____________

In an effort to keep our records up to date, please take a moment to verify that your contact information on file is correct. You can view and update your information online anytime at AOL Keyword: My Account or on the web at https://bill.aol.com

If you wish to discuss your account with a billing consultant online please visit AOL Keyword: Get Billing Help.

Please Remember: AOL will never ask for your password or credit card number in an e-mail or IM.

Sincerely,
