My favorite crane pick was the Spruce Goose...

I was the project manager for construction of a new tanker off-loading terminal at the old Spruce Goose hanger in Long Beach. They used one of the world's largest (at the time) floating cranes -- "Herman the German" -- to lift the Spruce Goose onto a barge. We got to go into the Spruce Goose a number of times prior to the move....kinda cool...if I could only remeber what I did with the pictures... vbg !! Steve B
