Silver Slipper Mould

The first chip listed on the Nevada Chipguide list is a BJ 50c dice/aces mould Silver Slipper chip. Dated 1968. The Silver Slipper Casino in Edmonton, Canada opened their doors in 1968 and called their casino the Silver Slipper, I presume because they had chips with the Silver Slipper logo on them. 1968. I suggest to Mr. David Spragg the dice/aces mould was up and delivering chips in 1968. I also suggest that the first rack was a 50c, $1 red and a $5 black
manufactured for the Silver Slipper in Las Vegas.
The Silver Slipper in Las Vegas used the 50c and somehow the two other denominations, after being used for a short time ($1 red) and along with the $5 black were disposed of in some fashion. I cannot understand the document in Mr. Spraggs hands that the dice/aces mould was first used in early 1972. I find that not be true. However the catalogues support this theory as do a couple Nevada chip experts and obviously the person responsible for the scans and information on the Chipguide listing of Nevada (LV) chips. Collecting chips can be mysterious and interesting with the earlier issues. More collectors should get into researching their chips and buy the catalogues and study them. Knowledge is what we search for in our lives.
