Re: NCR Old Vegas On Way Out
In Response To: NCR Old Vegas On Way Out ()

I also Heard that the Stardust is toast at the end of 2006, That is really sad. Old vegas has died. I am old enough to have been to the Sands and The Dunes and The Newer El Rancho. I even Remember staying at Bob Stupaks Vegas World with theSpace Theme and that was weird but cool. Can I say Horribly Tackie?? The walls in the room were this silver color with little 3-d circles that stuck out of the wall. None of the old hotels would hold up to the 20 something crowd and they would probably call the Sands or Dunes a dump and run to Their Palms (no offense Gene!) or Hard Rock, But anyone 40 and over remember the History and at that time it was cutting edge. Sorry Kids no spewing Volcanos or Pirates back then. I even remember going to various restaurants and paying for my food in chips or a taxi ride in chips. Once my friend was pulled over on the strip. He was pretty Drunk but not drinking, we were all drinking but no driving. That was legal then. Driver wasnt allowed to drink and drive but his passengers could, what a town!! My coffee buzz is wearing out!! time for another cup. John R-6920
