Don’t bet the farm on three 6s. NCR

This is a bad beat story so quit right now if you have heard your quota.
I played all day yesterday at Fort McDowell trying to get some more points for the monthly free roll and the bi-annual free roll tournaments. I probably have enough points for the bi-annual tournament, but I need to win or cash a couple more times in the daily tournaments to be sure of getting a seat in the January free roll. $25,000 for the monthly free roll and $100,000 for the bi-annual.
I arrived in time for the early football pool for the first game. Ooops no pool for the first game so I played some 3-6 holdem before the noon tournament started. You earn a thousand extra chips in the tournament for every hour of live play up to three thousand chips per tournament. The tournament is going well until we get down to 22 players I wimp out on a hand I wish I had played that could have propelled into the money instead I busted out on a worse hand a couple hands later. Trouble is the second game has started so I can not win for the final score of the second game because I was not in a live game when the football game started. I can win for the last three quarters so I get on every list.
I get in a small jackpot 3-6 holdem game in time for the second quarter. The small jackpot at the Fort is 24,500. The game is a stinker. I get called for an Omaha hi-lo big jackpot game so I move to that game. The jackpot in this game is half of the $175,000 big jackpot because there are not as many Omaha games contributing to the jackpot. This game is not too bad until three maniacs get in the game so when I get called for the 2-150 big jackpot game I decide to play that. The 2-150 is a spread limit holdem game with 1 and 2 dollar blinds and a maximum $150 bet. The buy in is $50 to $300. I buy for $100 plus the white chips I have from the other games. Because the blinds are so small I know I can be the rock in this game and hang around for the end of the football game and the start of the 7 o’clock tournament. If I get broken I will just have and extra long dinner break.
Into the game I go not feeling unhappy about the players. One guy I have played against in the tournaments is a good player and one player was at my table in the tournament he is just in the game to give away his money he ended up giving it to me. The other players are new to me. Things go well and I get up about $300. We loose the fish and a couple other players and get one of the “new breed” of player you know young guy smart aggressive. He buys in for the maximum $300. He is on my left. For the first hand he is deal I am first to act and make it fifteen to go he calls most of the raises have five or ten. He is the only caller. The flop comes 6 K 10 rainbow so I make a good sized bet thinking that will be the end of it. He comes over the top and I go back at him and when comes back all in I get that sinking feeling and go numb and my hand puts in a call without any instructions from my brain. OK guys turn them over is the order. He turns over 6s and I find the strength to turn up my aces. The turn is a rag. The river is an ace I WIN! Largest pot I ever won in a live game. Never bet the farm on three 6s.

Me in the middle you my recognize the guy on my right.
