ScrewyLouie !!!!!! How you dooy !!!! grin (NCR)

Hey Steve;

Hope you and others are out of the way of the “above flood stage” Napa River.

We’re getting hit pretty hard up here too.

In the pics below, ( taken this morning ) you’ll see a flood stage water redirectional system. vbg Built by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1978, we locals affectionately refer to it as “SUPER DITCH”.

Built to save the tiny community of Chester, Ca. from flooding from the North Fork of the Feather River ( which flows directly through the center of Chester ) during the spring run-offs or periods of heavy rain, ( such as this week ) it has done it’s job many times over the past 35 years that I’ve lived here.

The “DITCH” measures approx. 150 feet wide by 3 miles long and stretches from the Feather River to Lake Almanor. You can see several of the six water drop levels in the top pic looking upward toward the river. The bottom pic ( taken from the other side of Hy. 36 ) shows the water headed toward Lake Almanor

We’re saved from the floods because....”SUPER DITCH WORKS AGAIN” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grin
