Re:A Very Early Riverside Lighter

I agree with Roy - that is one of the best looking common chips around - right up there with the Bird Farm $5.

This lighter is from the vary early days of the Riverside. Mert Wertheimer started his gaming career in Detroit then tried Florida and finally settled in Reno. He leased the gambling operation in the Riverside in 1949. With some partners he purchased the Riverside in 1955. Poor Mr. Wertheimer died in 1958.
