In May 2004 I was driving...

on the Twenty-Nine Palms highway going home from a fishing trip to Utah. As we approached the small town of Joshua Tree we saw a long line of military busses going east towards the Marine base there. Everyone on that highway began to stop and get out of their cars. They were saluting and waiving because the busses were filled with Marines just back from the ending (?) of the war in Iraq.

It was awesome; what can I say. And, I still get goose bumps thinking about that experience. Hell I can hardly keep a dry eye just putting this down...hope my keyboard doesn't short out before I get this posted.
