While it may not give you exact answers to your questions there is one site I use to evaluate hotels almost anywhere in the world. It led us to a great hotel in Montreal for $85 instead of the usual $150 per nite for that area. Travellers post their reviews and you can get all sorts of neat info. Each reviewer also rates each hotel. Not only did we get a great rate on the hotel but someone suggested parking 1/2 block away for a few bucks instead of paying $20 per day for the valet.
