Doug Saito convinced me there was a color variation on one of these Fiesta tournament chips. Here's a scan of the two chips and the Paul-son ORCHID color sample. They are slightly different, but there's no other standard color this close to 'orchid', so it must just have been a slight difference in adding the dyes to the clay mix. Actually, neither of the Fiestas is a perfect match with the sample.

Maybe Gene can tell us if there was a reorder on this set. TCR shows there were only 300 of the color 'lavender' made back in 1997; I wonder how they know that?
