Thank you Von!!

I was hoping that you would lend your insight to this matter. Thanks Von!

Realistically, I have resigned myself to the idea that the $850 is gone, and chalked it up to an expensive lesson. If I can recoup the money, all the much better. Right now, I would be happy just to retrieve the gun in the same condition as when I "sold" it, or see this person get what is coming to them. I have been very pleasantly surprised with the detective and her eagerness to work on this matter. Maybe it was because I had very detailed records of the sale, and gave her so much information to work with (bank records, cell phone communication, copy of the ad and returned check, serial number, dates/times, etc). She told me this would take time, and I might not ever see the money. This is the first time I have been involved with any type of court proceedings, and I feel that she is kind of looking out for me. She's given me some tips (like not accepting payments for the $850 if offered), and actually called this evening for more information to call the bank that issued the check.

I'm not intimidated by this guy, but I'm also smart enough not to go looking for him. I will let the police handle that portion. As of now, the warrant is for writing a bad check. I think they are waiting to find out if he still has the gun before it is treated as a stolen firearm.

Thanks again Von!! Great info and I'll print it out for future reference!! Have a great day!!
