Well, I see I’ve hit a liberal nerve. First off, George Carlin has nothing to do with my comments. Secondly, I said I found a BIT of wisdom in the words (not wisdom filled) and I never said the comments were humorous.

• #1. A mandatory evacuation means just that...Get the hell out. Don't blame the Government after they tell you to go.
  I see no wisdom in always doing what the governemnt tells you to do. Clearly any thinking person understands that reality is far more complex then this rule would suggest.

• #2. If there is an emergency, stock up on water and non-perishables. If you didn't do this, it's not the Government's fault you're starving.

• #3. If someone comes in to help you, don't shoot at them and then complain no one is helping you.
  Well golly this really wise. Can you name one instance of a person shooting at someone who came to help them and then complaining that no one is helping them. Sure during the disaster we heard stories about shots being fired at helicopters, but after the fact when the media is looking to confirm these rumours they have pretty much come up short. And even if they were true you have lump all the people in NO together to make this point. What is the point of telling people who never fired a shot not to shoot at people trying to help them?

  I didn’t lump all the people in NO together. Let’s see. You admit that the media completely screwed up the coverage, and now you trust the media to investigate itself. Brilliant deduction.

• #5. My tax money should not pay to rebuild a 2 million dollar house, a sports stadium or a floating casino. Also, my tax money shouldn't go to rebuild a city that is under sea level. You wouldn't build your house on quicksand would you? You want to live below sea-level, do your country some good and join the Navy.
  I agree, but guess what --- my tax money shouldn't be used for your benefit either.

• #6. Regardless of what the Poverty Pimps Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton want you to believe, The US Government didn't create the Hurricane as a way to eradicate the black people of New Orleans;
  Hey I'm no Al sharpton or Jesse Jackson fan, but neither has said that. This is just a stupid attempt to discredit people who are critical of government policy .

  I guess you haven’t listened to The Reverend Sharpton and JJ very much. Mickey Mouse is more credible.

• #7. The government isn't responsible for giving you anything. This is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but you gotta work for what you want. McDonalds and Wal-Mart are always hiring, get a damn job and stop spooning off the people who are actually working for a living.
  So during the hurricane McDonald's in NO was hiring? Want ot open up your life to some scrutiny? I bet I can find you sponging off the government somehow? Own a house? Get a tax deduction for mortgage interest? Have kids? get a tax deduction for them? Work in a business with governemnt contracts? Student loans? Estate Planning so that your parents can give you all their property rather than sell it to pay for their own Nursing Home costs?

  I don’t think the reference was made for hiring in NO during the hurricane. I think it’s a reference to the outlandish and prevalant social programs in the country. To equate social programs to tax deductions in asinine. You know nothing about me. To insinuate that I sponge off the government because I own a house and deduct the interest clearly shows where your head is. I might as well say that because you drive a car on public highways, that you sponge off the government. Get off your liberal high horse.
