A collecting anecdote...

Over the weekend Pam and I spent some time with Scott and Estelle Hartman and amoung Scott's stories he had a this little gem that I asked if I could post here.

As some of you know Scott has been buying and selling chips for quite awhile. Both Scott and Estelle are regulars at the convention under the yellow, "Scott the ChipMan" banner for years. He even has a banner ad here on Greg's BBS, not to mention a few different personalized chips. The point being is that Scott's Toll-Free number has had quite a bit of exposure and Scott frequently gets calls from people wanting to buy and sell chips.

As anyone who has received the "I want to sell" type of calls (or emails) you can imagine the stories... "They were left by my Grandfather in a coffee can, a cigar box, etc."

On one occasion Scott received a call from a 'working girl' in Las Vegas. She told of a $500 chip that a client gave her in-trade for her wares, and that she was contacting Scott to see if Scott was interested in buying it.

Evidently she could not just return it to the casino that issued it, because it did not have a casino name on it. It was simply hot-stamped: $500.00.

At this point Scott told her that she needed to take the matter up with her client as it would appear that her client nailed he twice! vbg

As she was slamming down the phone, Scott could hear her bemoaning "that SOB..." vbg

Thank you Scott and Estelle, we had a wonderful time.
