All of the advice is good advice. I particularly like your idea, Charles. Through Bob's suggestion, I went into my profile and found under "selling preferences" a link to "payment receiving preferences" which governs whether or not you block payments from unconfimed addresses. I sent the information to the seller. Only time will tell if it works.
