If (I know that it is unthinkable, but for the sake of this hypothetical lets pretend the Red Sox somehow manage to win 2 of the three regular season games. Both the Yankees and the Red Sox would have a record of 95-67 and would then play a one game tiebreaker (Remember Bucky).

If that happens and Cleveland also wins 2 of three of the remaining games, Cleveland would then also have a record of 95-67, which would mean that whoever lost the one game playoff between NY and Boston would then be tied for the wildcard, and then there would be a one game playoff between Cleveland and the Red Sox for the wildcard (see what I did there), so this year we could actually see a team have to win 2 single game playoffs to get to the playoffs.
