ERNIE PRIMM --A TRUE STORY

I was born and raised in San Marino, CA. Ernie Primm was our neighbor. I played football with his son Gary Primm, I dated his sister Joan Primm and we went to the U. of Colo. together, almost got married. She got cancer at age 35 and died young, was a hell of a good tennis player, all-conference. Ernie had a couple underground casinos in downtown LA, paid off cops and had the LA Mayor in his pocket. in 1930's, new mayor in town cleaned up all illegal gambling in 1940's. Ernie then went to Nevada. Going back to my home town of San Marino,a small conservative town. At the time in the late 40's early 50's Ernie Primm was considered a gangster by some. Please understand in these times gambling was a vice and often condemed. Ofcourse in later years he was a very sucessful business man developling many large legal casinos, he outlined the plan for state line group of casinos for his son to complete after his death. Gary, also promised Ernie on his death bed he would name the town for him. Primm, NV.
