I went to Law School in the Chicago area and have friends who get upset when they talk about Capone. They hate ER because it suggests that crimes occur in Chicago. Any reference to Chicago in a negative light ticks them off.

While I admit that fans from other cities are equally obsessed, these guys will get into bar clearing brawls over the suggestion that The Cubs, Bears, and Bulls aren't God's favorite teams. I'm a White Sox fan, apparently God is fanaticsal over all of Chicago's teams.

Your comment that a business owned by Big Jim could possibly have had gambling would have got a real argument.
