all's well that ends well then. "God, I love this hobby" ...yes, I do too.
BUT-
Nate- OK; guess you should have replied to a different part of the thread (and I couldn't imagine why you were on that "bandwagon.") I too obtain my chips from both collectors and dealers. (and on that note, I really like the JWV chips in your post above ).
Len- you're acting as a true collector and hobbyist. That's honorable. One question still remains though...that is, why did you feel compelled to even mention David's name in your initial post? It wasn't necessary, and perhaps I'm "reading into" it too deeply as well, but maybe re-read what you originally posted. If you were David, what feelings would you have after reading it? Not happy ones, I'd imagine.
IMHO, the "I can do better than "x" argument should be (and yes, I'm repeating myself here) kept private. Dealers selling and collectors trading/giving chips are two different sets of circumstances.
Remember, there are people from many walks of life and varied levels of intelligence reading this board; it's quite easy to interpret your post to mean that David is doing something wrong, which he is not.
From the "whatever it's worth department," last time I attended G2E, I gave away or traded all the samples to collectors...BUT I didn't drag anyone else's name into my dealings. That's all.
