I'm a little confused here...

It's obvious you don't know Archie. When you come down to it a good many of us are just words on a screen. But words can and do convey thoughts and opinions.

What way is that? Opinionated? Most of us are. He made a joke about the Jet Blue landing. Most of us would think what Archie wrote was funny.

Crude? Too strong a word. He used no profanity and stated his thoughts. I think if you asked the passengers, they'd all agree with Archie. Me? For sure I'd have wet my pants between prayers.

Best of all you said: "You are my grandfathers age and he would never say anything like that."

I don't know how old your grandfather is, but if you asked him, I'll bet he'd agree with Archie. My husband is in the same age group as Archie. He thought what Archie wrote was funny and couldn't understand why anyone would be upset about it. My husband is neither crude nor rude, but rather reserved.

Whatever you do... do not, I repeat do not, mention your grandmother because for sure, she's older than I am.

The thing that troubles me about your post is that you seem to think that a person's age has some bearing on whether they should tell or laugh at something funny.

Would you suggest we all start posting our ages next to our Membership numbers and email addresses?

Age is NOT determined by the number of years one has been around, but rather by one's thinking.

There is one thing I know about Archie and it's that he has enough class to apologize if he unknowingly offends anyone. Archie deserves an apology here.

Life is far too short to get so excited over such a minor thing.
