My favorite Reno chip story-please read

At the last convention I talked, as I do every year, with a friend and fellow long time chip and token collector. We usually just have a few minutes as we both are sellers there. We have spent more time on the telephone than in person over the years. I spotted this Reno chip in perfect shape and its an upgrade I have always wanted as this one really appeals to me. I found joy in finding chips for their collection over the years so I offered a trade as I had found a rare "Pan" chip he needed. He passed on it as I thought he would. As he said "Bettye is telling me to pass on this one, we have enough chips". We shared a tear about how long he had been married, 50 or 55 years, and what a great lady his wife was and I paid him for my few chips I wanted of his. I now have a chip I will hold dear forever. This was Vince Mowery who I learned passed away the end of August. I do believe it was from a broken heart. A real gentleman and the shows will never be the same without B&V Coins there. Bettye and Vince, two of the greatest that I will always miss.
