I had a Sunday off and went to the local saloon where a bunch of old friends watch the Packer games. (I should have stayed in home and slept, it was horrible!)

Anyway, a flaming liberal friend of mine, went to the airport Sunday morning, rented a big honkin GMC Tahoe or something in that size. Stopped at the humaine society of Milwaukee, picked up cages. Stopped at the Kidney foundation and loaded up with extra supplies. Took discarded linens from a nursing home that were "soiled" (which means spots of coloration) Borrowed camping gear...

About half time, he and the truck, packing to the gills, were just at the tip of IL headed into Kentucky. The guy even missed a Packer game for this.

The guy took two weeks off of work, rented the SUV on his own money, and has voluntered (he's a dialysis nurse) his time in Mississippi and LA for two or three weeks. He's taking the cages so they can bring rescued animals back to Wisconsin.

This guy doesn't just talk the talk, he's been an action person since I met him.

My ultra right wing constructon friend, mailed off a big check from his company.

These guys are my heros. They don't give a hoot about politics or being politically correct, they just take care of what needs to be done, within their abilities.

While we may argue about football or issues, when it all comes down to the end, everyone pulls together for friends and strangers.

The bottom line is, agree or disagree on blame or politics, we're all together on this effort, no matter what direction the motivation comes from.
