So I'm pretty bored and I've had a brew and I'm poking around on the web and keeping up on the Katrina news...be sure to check out the club roster Ralph Myers is posting on the Club board of members who might be affected by Katrina.

I noticed a discussion on a local blog I like about situations that occur like the disputed atribution of the EPC Club chips in our hobby. One side sez the Ernie Prim Club while the others hoots that you'd end up with Ernie Prim Club Club if you read the chip.

The original entry was about a mainstream copy editor using the term "web blog" as an information tool in crisis situations like Katrina. Of course that is the same as saying "web web log". As Hilary Clinton pointed out, "There Are No Editors On The Internet!" (Would you vote for the first ALL CAPS President of the United States?) The comments to the entry added the info that there are other duplonyms like VIN number, PIN number, ATM machines and that the swells in this town go to the MAC Club (Multnomah Athletic Club Club). Got any more?

No such word as duplonym. Sheesh. So the next time you argue for Ernie Prim Club Club just point out that it's reduplicative... and so what!

I sure am acquiring a bunch of different yellow chips these days.
