Global Gaming Expo (G2E) is pleased to bring you information about the event that may be of interest to you.

Watching the news these past few days, we cannot help but feel devastated by the pictures of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, especially knowing that thousands of our industry’s employees have lost homes and loved ones and face an uncertain future.

In light of the devastating effects of the storm on gaming jurisdictions along the Gulf Coast, the American Gaming Association (AGA) has set up the Gaming Industry Katrina Relief Fund. The goal of the fund will be to raise industry dollars to provide disaster relief and assistance to affected gaming employees in Mississippi and Louisiana.

AGA member companies affected by the disaster will be creating individual programs to help their employees. If you would like to contribute to relief efforts for gaming employees but do not have a mechanism to do so already, we invite you to join us in supporting this broader industrywide effort to provide much-needed assistance.

A section of the AGA Web site is set up and devoted to the relief effort, where individuals can learn more, download a donation form and contribute online via credit card. Additionally, we plan to make the Fund a significant presence at Global Gaming Expo and will set up kiosks throughout the event where individuals can submit donations on-site.

The AGA will be working with its member companies in the affected areas to determine how best to distribute these funds and ensure the money raised through this relief effort is targeted directly to gaming employees affected by the storm.

This disaster is about much more than casinos – it is about people and communities and the struggle to rebuild lives, and our hearts go out to the thousands of gaming employees affected.
