This weekend we will be trying to migrate over to a brand new computer/server. This server will give us a faster CPU as well as additional hard drive capacity.

Additionally this new server has it's drive configured in a RAID-5 drive array. In case we ever have a drive failure in one of these hard drives, no data will be lost as there is enough information on the other drives to rebuild the lost drive. We will still continue to do our nightly backups but this RAID-5 array just gives us another safety net in case of a crash.

As a result of these upgrades, the Collection Library site will be up and down quite a bit this weekend. Once we are ready to go live with the new server, the sites may be down an hour or two while we copy over the databases from the old machine to the new machine.
