In Response To: $5 ()

The $5 Baker to Vegas 20th Anniversary chip is worth a bit more then face value because:

a) It was a limited edition issue. Only 500 of the $5 chip were made.

b) It no longer carries any monetary value in the Las Vegas Hilton casino or in their casino cage because following the completion of the sale of the Las Vegas Hilton property by Caesars Entertainment to a subsidary of Colony Capital called Resorts International the new owners removed all of the old rack chips and replaced them with new ones and then published a redemption notice in the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun stating that patrons had 1 year in which to cash in the old chips after which they could no longer be used and would not be accepted in the casino.

c) The last time I checked they were somewhat hard to come by because they were gobbled up very quickly by chip collectors. A few of us were really lucky that we could get our hands on some because the promoter of the Baker to Vegas event returned more then a few of the chips back to the cage where they were also gobbled up.

I would gather to guess that this particually chip if it is in Mint to Near Mint condition probably would get about $8 to $10 and another condition is slightly less of course.
