Fred,
Write it. Everybody's collecting experiences are different and we can all learn from each other, no matter how long we've been collecting ourselves.
I wrote my first article for the magazine this past year and thoroughly enjoyed it. In my case, I wrote a draft of the article first and then sent a copy to Allan Anderson, the editor of the CCTN at editor@ccgtcc.com. Allan approved of the idea and I did some slight revision to polish it and came up with some pictures to go with it. Then I e-mailed the thing to Allan and it ended up in the mag. E-mail me if you have any questions.
