What a "TROLL" is... explained

Def: To fish for by trailing a baited line

Back before the time of the message boards and even before the CC>CC the term was used in Usenet groups. It's actually Trolling, but got shortened to Troll which would correctly be the past tense "To Troll"

It's when someone posts a message to incite others, create controvesry or start a battle or argument. Kind of like trolling for some action. Usually the person writing the post has no interest in the subject or the answer, as long as they can Bait someone into a fight, i.e. Catch Some Fish!

I guess you can call people who do this on a regular basis, a Troll? grin

Before the internet, I thought it was just a Gnome gone bad? vbg
