Borland Commemoratives - another twist grin

Following Jim Blanchard's 'reports' last week and my inclusion of the insert varities in my Borland article, I sat there (no doubt I was not alone) measuring and comparing them to each other, and got stuck with the $25's, where a number appeared to be neither 1/2" or 5/8" in size grin

Jim Blanchard has just confirmed that the original $25's were in fact made with 9/16" inserts. The later ones are 1/2". Not much difference in size but when you see the two together the insert shapes are quite different and distinguishable.

Also, it came to light today that the $1 Mint does in fact exist in Dark Blue with the smaller (3/8") inserts, being the original order, of which its now apparent that a small number only also exist in the black. So, to clarify, there are 3 versions of this chip.

Dark Blue with 3/8" inserts (first order)
Black with 3/8" inserts (a few only known from the first order above)
Dark Blue with 1/2" inserts (re-order)

I have updated the article accordingly.

If anyone needs the $1 Mint Dark Blue 3/8" I believe Kenny Francis may be able to help you grin
(Kenny, I wasn't greedy, the 3 I took are for myself, Gene and Skip only grin )
