"Let It Ride" Question

Played "Let It Ride" at four different casinos during the recent chip convention. In each session at each casino I was amazed that the players at the tables on either side of me would lean over to look at my cards, and would show me what they were holding as well. No one seemed to mind one bit. I have to admit that there seems to be a bit of an advantage to knowing that the cards you may need to make your hand are less likely to fall your way when you can see that others at the table are holding several of those cards.

Is this common at all casinos that offer let it ride? Not like anyone was holding their cards over their heads and calling out their hands to everyone, just that everyone was sharing iformation in a casual way.

Just curious, as I just returned from Fallsvue Casino in Canada where this same practice was the norm.
