In Response To: A BLAST FROM THE PAST...NCR ()

In SoCal your "wheels" were not "cool" unless it was on a "rake" or was "planed" had "tuck-and-roll" and was "bull nosed." Plus the car club plaque. Does anyone "cruise" now?

What happened to slide rulers? Kids today think that's a baseball term I guess.

I think one 1950's cigarette ad helped me with a bit of proper grammar for all of my life. A cigarette (?) announcer said, "...like a cigarette should." I can still hear Miss Fuller go on and on that the word should be "as." Believe me, I couldn't stand her then but I've long wished I could thank her for beating proper grammer into me. I can still diagram sentences - do you know anyone under, say, 50 years old that can do that?
