Oh yeah, the machines are designed to be used in a noisy enviornment. All machines are equipped with built in sound control but the range is usually between "too loud" and "youll be deaf in 10 seconds". If you value your hearing and sanity either purchase additional volume control (can be installed by retailer at time of purchase for a small fee per speaker (like $5)) or buy a machine with a volume control that actually regulates the volume to a low level - there are very few of these kinds of machines - but you can find them. Thats why the one magic pulsar machine was my favorite, the standard volume control is pretty good.
