Me....An update.

As many of you are aware I have cancer. I'm currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments once a week. Yesterday I visited my Oncologist and was given some news. I have stage IIIB non-small cell lung cancer. Translation: it has spread to my right lung. My doctor and I have decided that along with the chemotherapy, radiation treatments are in order. I start those treatments on Thursday.

This morning, I decided to take a walk. I never realized that although I live in a small town on the edge of nowhere Kansas this is a pretty nice town. Half way through my walk I found myself at the post office. I figured I'd collect my bills and walk home. WRONG ANSWER! NO BILLS! Instead there was a bright blue slip that said I had an express mail package. Inside that package was a note signed simply "3 Friends". The end of the note reads " I think I speak for the three of us when I say that we would like to keep this low key. We don't need thanks, medals, or praise. The fact that we have you for a friend and that you are getting better is our thanks."

After cleaning out the styrofoam peanuts, which most ended up on the post office floor, I discovered a wonderful rack of Chipco chips. I sat down on the post office floor and cried.

The first three chips out of that rack will go to those "3 friends", one of them will be placed on the grave of my sister, who lost her fight with cancer on March 17, 2005. The other 16 will be given to my Oncologist, my "nuke nurses", and the other patients that I see every week, knowing that I may never see them again.

That leaves me with 80 chips. Thats where I'd like you guys to help.

The list of people that I have personal chips from include (in no specific order):

Bill Romano
Ralph and Rhona Myers
Greg Susong
Steve Bedo
Richard Fellman
Gene Trimble
David Spragg
Victor Salnicky (whenever he gets his!)

If the above listed people would like one of my chips please email your address and I'll get one out to you.

I have 72 chips left. If you have a personal chip that I currently do not have I'll trade mine for yours! If you don't have a personal chip but would like one of mine, email your address to me and I'll send you one.

I'd like to thank the wonderful Debby Meister for her artwork and Jodi at Chipco who "pushed these through in world record time".

To my "3 Friends",I tried to keep this "low key" but you mean a lot to me and there is nothing I could ever do to repay you. You are all wonderful chippers and I am proud to be part of this great organization.

Thank you and God Bless
