Fake chip discovered - thank you Andy Hughes

Today I sold a chip on eBay (item #6183885479). After the auction had closed, I received an email from my good friend Andy Hughes. Andy informed me that the chip was a fake. I had no idea until he told me.

The chip in question is a 1994 buy-in chip for the WSOP. Apparently, someone removed the metal sticker from a real '94 chip and put it on a '92 or '93 chip. When I purchased this chip 3 years ago, I was very excited at the prospect of finding a WSOP buy-in chip that I didn't have (or even knew existed). I had always been curious about two different '94 buy-in chips, but I never thought to ask you guys on this board about it. My loss.

Anyway, I have since sent the buyer (from Japan) an email informing him of my horrible mistake. I want to publically thank Andy for bringing this to my attention and saving me a little face. The last thing I need is people thinking I'm trying to pawn off fake chips on eBay.

All of the chips I'm selling are from my personal collection, and every one of them was very valuable to me. It pains me to know that some of them weren't what I thought they were.

Thanks also to Gene Trimble for helping me out on a few of them as well. I owe you guys a debt of gratitude. I'll be thanking you personally at the show.

Thanks.
