Great shot of old Vegas...

If anyone is interested, that shot is taken from Main Street, looking down Fremont.

In today's geography, you would get the same shot by standing in front of the Plaza. The Hotel Nevada is now the Golden Gate. You can see part of the Northern Club, which was the first Las Vegas casino to be licensed in 1931 when gambling was legalized (license was issued to Mayme Stocker). Later the Northern Club became the Monte Carlo, which was run by Wilbur Clark (who later owned the Desert Inn), for years it was the Coin Castle and now is La Bayou. The buildings on the other side of the Northern Club became the Pioneer Club. History lesson of the day... vbg
