WSOP Update

Well, where do I start. The reason I was so tired is because I walked to the airport to catch my flight out of LV. I usually run two miles every other day and yesterday was my day to run. I didn't bring any running clothes so I thought I would take a leisurely walk to the airport. I was staying at the Orleans. For those of you that know LV that is a good walk. It wasn't the distance it was the heat. The longer I walked the hotter it got. DAH !!
AND MY WIFE THINKS I'M WEIRD SOMETIMES.
The event was an incredible experience. I won't go into detail because I am putting together an article for the next club magazine. If you have any questions I will be glad to answer them here or by email.
I lasted a little less than 3 hours. I am guessing I was out at about #1150 out of 2305 people. The combination of non winning cards and table position hurt me. But the situation which really killed me went like this:

I was up to $1,950 (we started with $1,500)after the first hour but found myself down to $725 about the middle of hour 3. I was two to the left of the big blind with the blinds at $50-$100. The guy under the gun called the $100. I looked down to find AA. Not wanting to blow out everyone I only raised it to $300. I knew with the aggressive players at the table a couple would call me or might even raise. It folded around to the small blind, who was about to raise (he confessed later) it when the dealer noticed an extra card under his rail. It apparently was left over from the previous hand. The dealer immediately called over the manager and she ruled the hand void and everyone got their money back. I was livid but what could I do. I showed my AA and then tried my darnest not to go tilt. I clearly had a chance to double, if not triple up. Poof, it was gone. I continued to get rags until I looked down and saw 44 in the big blind. The cards were going so bad for me all day I took a chance to triple up again after one guy went all in and another called him. I was out when the all-in guy caught a J to his A-J.
I don't know what I could have done differently to play better. When you don't get the cards and the table is too aggressive to bluff your chances are slim.
I will play the WSOP again, even if I have to buy-in to do it. It was a wonderful experiece and now I know what to expect. I might add I was not intimidated at all by anyone at either table at which I was. But then they weren't Gus Hanson.
DIDN'T GET ANY OF THE CHIPS !!!
